Jewelry Care

LOVE & CARE FOR YOUR JEWELRY
When dressing always remember that  jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
To ensure the life of  all gold-filled and sterling silver  jewelry, it should not be exposed to water for extended periods of time.  Jewelry should be removed when bathing or swimming to prevent damage or loss. Precious metals are particularly susceptible to damage from chlorine, which can permanently damage or discolor them. Precious metals should also be kept from extreme temperatures, high humidity, or excessive sunlight.
Brass jewelry can be buffed, cleaned, polished with polishing cloths. Brass  darkens and oxidizes when in contact with oxygen.  They can be kept looking new by polishing them after oxidation,  Brass does not discolor over time.
CLEANING JEWELRY
Our Silver jewelry should be cleaned in mildly sudsy water, rinsed well and patted dry with a soft cloth to prevent scratches. After, polish gently with a jewelry polishing cloth to maintain shine. Avoid using “dip” polishing trays or abrasive jewelry cleaners which may contain harsh chemicals and destroy jewelry over time.
STORING JEWELRY
We highly recommend that you store your jewelry in its original Kimberly Sky pouch or box to help prevent tarnishing.  Anti-tarnish tabs can also be placed inside pouches or boxes.  Anti-tarnish tabs can be purchased via email inquiries. Pieces should be stored separately, to avoid rubbing or tangling.
